It’s a heartfelt gesture of support for everyone walking the cancer journey—an emblem of love and acknowledgement that speaks volumes without saying a word.
What is Daffodil Day?
Each day 77 Kiwis hear the words, “you have cancer”, and 1 in 3 Kiwis will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Daffodil Day is a chance to show friends and family affected by cancer they’re not alone.
Daffodil Day is Cancer Society’s most iconic and much-loved fundraising campaign.
It’s the generosity of New Zealanders on Daffodil Day that help cancer patients, and their families (whānau) get the care and practical support they need.
Daffodil Day is also about donating in order to protect future generations of New Zealanders by helping to fund world-leading cancer research and vital prevention programmes.

This is 26-year-old Paige.
“It was heartbreaking to be told I’m terminal, and that I’m never going to have kids. Things I’ve always dreamed about happening like getting married, having kids, having a great family home, you know? It just tore me apart...
But hard part is seeing what it does to my family—breaking their hearts.”
When you donate, you help fund free nursing, counselling, transport, and accommodation for patients like Paige.
